Viking and Saxon Toys

Did Viking and Saxon children play with toys?

Of course they did!

Generally they would have been hand made wooden toys, carved by their parents or siblings.

Shown in the picture are the ball and cup and hoop and stick.  I also bring along to the school quoits (throwing a hoop over an upright pole), carved animals and spinning tops that can be spun using a piece of leather or twine.
